I sent out an email message to the wiki members. Check your "wiki mail" by clicking the envelope icon at the top right of the screen. You should have one message from me there.
Set up at least 3 columns to follow Twitter chats.
(You might consider “Mentions”, “#edchat”, and one other hashtag of interest to you) Use the Twitter Hashtags for Education link on the wiki as a starting point for adding chat columns. NOTE: If you are interested in following an organized chat, add #midleved as a column and participate in the discussion at 5:00. This chat is focused on middle school relevant topics.
Begin looking at tweets and links in the chats. Follow hyperlinks in tweets that interest you. Did the link take you to a web site, a blog, a new article? Did you learn something new? Find a new resource?
Retweet something that sparks your interest.
Add your own updates as you feel comfortable.
Find and “follow” 8 more educators on Twitter. Remember you can find people to follow by looking at who others follow. Take a look at who I follow and who is following me.
You might consider following these educators: @tombarrett @lizbdavis @21stprincipal @mbteach @rmbyrne @brianyearling @shellterrell @bhsprincipal
5:30 – 6:00
As a group, have a discussion about your experience on Tweetdeck.
Were you able to find people to follow?
Did you find new resources from hyperlinks?
Were you able to participate in a chat?
What topics are others tweeting about?
Make a commitment to “tweet” one time per day this week. Remember, the more you put in, the more you’ll get out!!
